This band of brothers has already made an impact on the alternative rock scene, and their success continues to grow. The band consists of Dylan and Jesse, who both sing and play bass and drums, respectively. The eldest brother, Johnny, plays both the accordion and piano, while Danny plays guitar. They have an edgy, rock sound that is present throughout their album, Lunatics. The mix of guitars, drums, and even an accordion (yes, an accordion!) are what makes their sound hard to match. They have done a number of large festivals in South Africa and have a huge fan base there. The band is currently based in Arizona. They have toured with Linkin Park, Dispatch, and AWOLNATION overseas and are now on their last show with Kings of Leon and Young the Giant on the Mechanical Bull tour.
If the name KONGOS does not ring a bell yet, their hit single “Come with Me Now” probably will. This catchy tune is hard to miss because of its immense popularity. Their hit single is quickly climbing the charts and has attracted a ton of attention across different mediums. The song has appeared in promos for NFL, NBA, ESPN, and much more. The song is edgy, hip, and sets the tone well for their overall album.

They have been on the Mechanical Bull Tour, opening up for Kings of Leon. We got the pleasure to listen to them LIVE during their show at the Concord Pavilion and they did not disappoint. They were the first band of the night and their set was approximately 30 minutes long. They played music from their album and ended their set with “Come with Me Now.” They sounded great, and had the same edge and rock ‘n’ roll flare that they have on their album. KONGOS really got the crowd going and started the night off on a high note. I am really looking forward to seeing what is on the horizon for these guys, and hope to see them again in concert!
