I have been a huge OneRepublic fan ever since their music hit the air waves. Their current album, Native, is honestly one of my favorite albums of this year. The collective songs from the album are beautifully written and the distinctly melodic music has transfixed my ear buds. They have a number of hit tracks from the album, their current one being “I Lived,” and might I add, it is amazing.
I stumbled upon the track during a road trip with my family. Ever since I hit the play button, it was on repeat. The song is not only catchy, but the message melted my heart. The track was perfect for my road trip and inspired me to really venture off and see the world.
When we listen to music, we want to feel something and be moved, and this song did just that. The track makes you think about whether or not you are taking the necessary risks in life that will help you grow as a person. It is important to take opportunities that will push you out of your comfort zone because that is when you will find yourself. The song is about embracing life and seizing all the moments, both big and small. It is an uplifting track and has a message that we can all stand behind. It is such an inspirational piece of work, and I truly fell in love with the song.
To top it all off, the song’s music video, which was recently released, is definitely one to watch. The video features a young boy named Bryan who is diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. The video gives us a glimpse of what he has to go through on a daily basis. But despite having cystic fibrosis, Bryan does not let it stop him from living his life. In the music video, you see him enjoy his life the way he wants to. His home videos show him having great times and having moments where he fell and had to pick himself up again. Life is not perfect, and we are all rolling with the punches. But it is those moments where we strive toward something greater than ourselves when we have truly lived. Despite the obstacles that life puts us through, this music video reminds us that we can do anything we set our mind to. We cannot let our circumstances define us and let our limitations prevent us from accomplishing the things we dream of. This inspiring song reminds us to truly live life to its greatest potential and to have no regrets.
