For all you Rixton Rebels out there, get excited, because we got to interview these talented lads about their new music, their upcoming tour with Ariana Grande, and much more. Also, I have to say that I have to try really hard not to fan girl too much whenever anyone mentions Rixton. From their charm, wit, talent, and sense of humor, what is there not to love? These guys continue to steal the hearts of ladies across the world with their amazing music.

Enjoy the interview and make sure to check out the photos and videos that I included along the way. Cheers!

How did the name Rixton come about?

First we went by the name Relics, but later found out there was already a band by that name so we had to come up with a new one. We loved the sound of “R” plus “X” so we made a list of a bunch of names that had both sounds. Then one day, we were walking in Danny’s neighborhood and discovered a road named Rixton literally right behind his house where we started our band. It seemed like a proper good fit.

How did you all know you wanted to pursue music?

Ever since we were young lads. It was really the only thing that ever felt natural to us.

What does your family back in the U.K think about your continued success in the U.S?

They honestly couldn’t be more proud. Every time a new poster is released in the states, they beg for us to send them back home.

What sets you apart from other popular bands?

Musically our songs sound like a combination of genres so it’s pretty unique. As a band, we don’t take ourselves too seriously and like to have a bit of fun with everything we do.

I miss watching Rixton Round Ups. Any chance you guys will be doing them again?

You never know!

One of my favorite songs from the Me and My Broken Heart EP is “Hotel Ceiling.” What is the story behind that track?

It’s a song that we wrote with the very talented Mister Ed Sheeran. Ever hear of him? It turned out to be a very beautiful song and was quite an experience putting together.

How has the whole process and experience been like in the studio as you wrapped up your debut album?

The funny thing is that the album has been years in the making and we didn’t even know it! Several songs were written when we were still in school, crazy how they withstood time and made it onto the album. We did the actual recording of the songs in New York with Benny Blanco. The whole experience has been amazing. We’ll never forget recording our first album, it’s a massive accomplishment for us.

As a band, what is the process like when creating new music?

It’s a bit different every time. You never really know what to expect when in the studio and how a song is going to come together.

Your fans have probably seen the music video for “Make Out,” which was very entertaining. If you got to do the music video all over again, what videos would you put in it?

Don’t think we would do it differently as those videos are a good representative of the videos released during that time. But if we were releasing the music for it now, it might be fun to do a Taylor Swift or Iggy spoof. Maybe even a little Beyonce.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would you work with and why?

Would love to collaborate with Maroon 5 as they have been major influences on us throughout the years. We’re also big fans of 30 Seconds to Mars. That could be an interesting one.

I got to see you guys in concert in San Francisco during your U.S tour and you guys were amazing! Any favorite moments from the tour?

The whole tour was amazing, as it was our first headlining tour in the US, so really hard to choose one specific moment. The LA show was incredible. We had a sold out crowd there that night and shot the music video for “Wait On Me,” so I think that could be one of the top favorite moments.

I also got to meet you guys after the concert and you guys are all such down to earth and sweet guys. How do you guys stay grounded, especially from such rapid success?

We’re very appreciative of our fans and the support they give us. We wouldn’t be where we are today without them, so that’s a constant reminder every day to continue to be who we are.

You guys have opened up for Ariana Grande before. How did that come about and what was that experience like?

It was an incredible experience. We have the same management so it came together naturally.

What can we expect to see when you guys open up for her on her Honeymoon tour?

The best night of your life!

Besides being a part of the Honeymoon tour, what else can we expect to see from you guys in the near future?

Shameless plug here, but our debut album is going to be available in the US January 6.

Where can your fans get in touch with you guys and get more Rixton related news?

We’re very active on our socials, so stay connected with us on twitter @RixtonOfficial. We’ve also launched our official fanclub on fahlo.me/Rixton, which is a great place to get closer to us.
