It’s been a while since we heard new stuff from The Smashing Pumpkins. Their last album, Oceania, from 2012, was well received, but it didn’t have that great kick of a sound their previous work had. This week, the band released a new single as part of their tenth studio album, entitled Moments to an Elegy and set to be released on December 9th.
The single, “Being Beige,” was made available via Soundcloud, and it’s actually not that bad. It starts with slow guitars to be joined later by a louder and more explosive sound, something the band led by Billy Corgan is known for.
Moments to an Elegy will be the band’s first album without drummer Jimmy Chamberlin. The album is also part of a super-album entitled Teargarden by Kaleidyscope, which will have 44 tracks. The band has plans to release another album, Day For Night, in 2015.
