Music News: Imagine Dragons Release New Single, “I Bet My Life”

Indie rock quartet Imagine Dragons released a new single, “I Bet My Life,” giving listeners a sneak peek of their forthcoming album set to release in 2015 on KIDinaKORNER/Interscope Records, according to a Universal Music press release.

“This song is about the relationship I’ve had with my parents throughout the years. At times it’s been strained and difficult, but in the end, ‘I Bet My Life’ celebrates the bond that we still hold on to,” said vocalist Dan Reynolds of the track.

The band’s first album, Night Visions, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart in September 2012, selling over 83,000 copies, according to Billboard. The band’s enormous success has been attributed to their ability to blend aspects of alternative, pop, and rock, which can be heard on the popular singles, “It’s Time,” “Radioactive,” “Demons,” and continues to shine in “I Bet My Life.”

“Radioactive” held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Rock chart and the track is also responsible for Imagine Dragons’ Grammy award for “Best Rock Performance” in 2014. “Demons” hit No. 1 at Alternative and Top 40 radio, and has sold 3.9 million copies in the U.S., according to the press release.

There is still no word on an official title for the new album, but the new single is available for digital download and online streaming.
