Sia releases new Kanye West produced track “Reaper”

Sia has released her new promotional single “Reaper,” co-written and produced by Kanye West. The track, embedded below, serves as the fifth promotional single release for Sia’s upcoming LP, This is Acting.

The addicting track was originally meant for Rihanna’s eighth and highly anticipated album, Anti. After being rejected, Sia herself kept “Reaper” for the January 29 release of her LP. With just a few short weeks away from release date, Sia Furler is on the fast track to releasing her best album yet.

This is Acting serves as a track list of rejected songs Furler has written for other artists, including superstar Adele. “Alive,” the first single released, was meant for the English songstress before being cut. “Bird Set Free” was written for the movie Pitch Perfect 2 before being axed as well.

As for “Reaper,” the West and Furler duo strikes again after the two worked together on West’s performance on SNL 40 with rapper Vic Mensa. The song “Wolves” has yet to be released in high quality, but is rumored to be on Yeezy’s forthcoming album this year.

It’s safe to say that the two should work together in the very near future. “Reaper” is a resonant, hypnotic track that could be the next “Chandelier” for Sia. With triumphant and inspiring lyrics like, “You tried to track me down / You followed me like the darkest cloud / But no baby, no baby, not today,” the track is an anthem that will surely be remembered.

Make sure to catch the double toned bridge and chorus that makes the song so beautifully produced.

This is Acting is set for release on January 29.
