The Shins announce new album “Heartworms”

Indie rockers The Shins have announced that their long awaited followup to 2012’s Port of Morrow will be released this spring. Heartworms will be released on March 10 through Columbia Records. The album was produced by lead singer and sole original member James Mercer and features the song “So Now What”, which had previously appeared on the soundtrack for Zach Braff’s 2014 film Wish I Was Here, but it is unclear if it is the same version that appeared on that soundtrack or a new re-recording.

The Shins will also tour the album through March and April. With the exception of bass guitarist Yuuki Matthews, Mercer will be joined by an entirely new group of musicians than the one that he promoted and toured Port of Morrow with. You can find those tour dates below, along with the lyric video for the first single “Name for You.”

Heartworms can be pre-ordered through iTunes, Amazon and the band’s official store.
