Spoon is getting ready to release new album, ‘Hot Thoughts’

After listening non-stop to the whole They Want My Soul album over and over back in 2014 and making tracks like “Rent I Pay” and “Do You” part of our daily playlist, Austin rock band Spoon is ready to return to the music stage this year with some new “hot” tunes.

Hot Thoughts is the title of the band’s ninth studio album, co-produced by Spoon with the help of Dave Fridmann. Along with the happy news of a new recording heading our way, lead singer, Britt Daniel and company also released the first track entitled (you guessed it), “Hot Thoughts”. The song is very catchy from the first listen. It includes a mix of scratchy guitars joined by some piano arrangements and a chorus that give great depth and body to the song.

The new album will include ten new tracks and promises to be “the bravest, most sonically inventive work of Spoon’s career”, according to their record label.  The band has already confirmed a three-night residency at The Main on March 14, 15 and 16, during the 2017 SXSW Music Festival.
