Alt-J Announce New Album and Tour with Release of New Single

It’s definitely a good day to be an Alt-J fan! Within the past 24 hours, the English indie rockers have released a new single and announced a new album and tour to come later this year.

Supported by lead single “3WW,” featuring backing vocals from Wolf Alice singer/guitarist Ellie Rowsell–the band’s third album is titled RELAXER and will be released on June 9, 2017. The record marks Alt-J’s first release through Canvasback Records in the U.S. and, like their previous two efforts, will be distributed by Infectious Music within the U.K. The group, comprised of members Joe Newman (guitar/vocals), Thom Green (drums), and Gus Unger-Hamilton (keyboard), have put the album up for preorder here.

In addition, Alt-J has announced some summer tour dates in support of RELAXER during July and August of 2017. The U.S. dates released so far are:

7/27: Columbia, MD – Merriweather Post Pavilion
7/28: Boston, MA – Blue Hills Bank Pavilion
7/29: New York, NY – Panorama Music & Arts Festival
8/1: Cleveland, OH – Jacobs Pavilion
8/3: Kansas City, MO – Starlight Theater
8/4: St. Charles, IA – Hinterland Music Festival
8/7: Morrison, CO – Red Rocks Amphitheater
8/9: Los Angeles, CA – Shrine Auditorium

The group is also playing a show at London’s O2 Arena on June 16, 2017 and will be performing at various international festivals throughout the summer, including sets in Latvia, Austria, Russia, and Hungary.
