So, I love Timbaland. The man is a legend and has produced countless hits for artists across the board. His work is so vast that this is just part 1 of a 2-part post. You’re in for a treat as I recall some old hits (that I still listen to) and some new music!

10. “Try Again” by Aaliyah (2000)
A song with a great message sung by Baby Girl. I still listen to this, and it’s 2013! “Try Again” is a timeless cut by Timbaland and the iconic R&B starlet.

9. “Right Now” by Danity Kane (2006)
Although they were short-lived, DK was a promising little gem. They were a girl group that didn’t boast just one girl as the main songstress. Each girl held their own, and they delivered a solid first album. The cut “Right Now” was and is still one of my favorite R&B songs.
8. “Sexyback” by Justin Timberlake (2006)
Would you believe that I didn’t like this song when it first came out? I know, I know! Blasphemy. But, to me, it didn’t even sound like JT. I though the sound was very different from his first album. In the end, it won me over. Don’t you have moments like that? Where it takes more than just a few listen to like a song? Timberlake took a risk with his music for FutureSex/LoveSounds, and it turned out his musical lovechild with Timbo was a genius move.
7. “Big Pimpin'” by JAY-Z (1999)
One of the most successful singles from the Jigga man, “Big Pimpin'” is now a classic and is one if the most recognizable beats. I mean, you don’t go to a JAY-Z concert and NOT hear this live.
6. “Hot Boyz” by Missy Elliot (2000)
Man, it’s been a minute since Missy Elliot has dropped new music! “Hot Boyz” used to be my jam, and now and again, I still bop my head to it in my car.
5. “Pony” by Ginuwine (2006)
Another classic! Back in the day when Ginuwine was the reigning prince of R&B, every girl bumped their hips and arched their backs to the scandalous lyrics and infectious beat.
4. “Fantasy” by Timbaland ft. Money (2007)
From Timbaland’s own duet album back in ’07, I played “Fantasy” non-stop, and I even choreographed a two-eight count piece to it! Yes, I had my share of dancing days back in high school. Anyway, even though you never hear Timbo’s voice in the track, it was an underrated production masterpiece in the set Shock Value. In that album, every single song was dope, though! If you haven’t heard it, I suggest you treat your ears on the immediate.
3. “Tunnel Vision” by Justin Timberlake (2013)
His album came out, and I cannot stop listening to this song! For me, “Tunnel Vision” brings me back to 90s-early 2000s Timbaland. There’s these urgent strings and percussion with splendid vocal arrangements by JT himself. The cut is very refreshing and impressive amongst the dance-pop craze of today.
2. “Carry Out” by Timbaland ft. Justin Timberlake (2009)
Shock Value II wasn’t as great it’s predecessor, but it did serve some good songs. The best, however, was “Carry Out.” That was the time when JT was doing features in increments.
1. “Are You That Somebody?” by Aaliyah (1998)
C’mon! He used a crying baby as part of the melody for this song! How does someone think, “Ima use a baby crying for this song”? Timbaland’s thought process is one some other sh*t. And thank goodness for that! Yes, I’ve realized Aaliyah is here more than once. She frequently collaborated with him, and their art isn’t going to get ignored.
