Music News: 90s Girl Group TLC Announces New Projects

Entertainment Weekly reported today that the remaining members of 90s girl group TLC, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, are working on new projects for the group. After taking an over ten year break, the girls are working on a fifth studio album and a tour to support it. In addition, there is going to be a VH1 biopic (other such films include Daydream Believers: the Monkees Story and The Beach Boys: An American Family, both of which are highly enjoyable) that will explore the events covered in the group’s Behind the Music episode (also known as the thing I will drop EVERYTHING to watch). Being both a big fan of VH1’s biopics and the TLC Behind the Music episode, I’m so excited for this to happen.

Of course, nothing will be the same without Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, the third member of TLC that perished in a car crash in 2002. Chilli and T-Boz plan to incorporate past video footage of Left-Eye on their tour, which is so much better than the joke of bringing her into the performance as a hologram. That would be just creepy and weird.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go listen to “Creep” on repeat until that biopic comes out.
