Music News: The Killers Release the “Miss Atomic Bomb” Video

Earlier today, the Killers released the video for the second single off of Battle Born, “Miss Atomic Bomb.” According to the band’s twitter, the song and video are the companion to “Mr. Brightside,” their first single from their debut album Hot Fuss. It explores more of the “Mr. Brightside” characters’ story, showing the ups and downs of their relationship. The video is a combination of live action and animation, a fresh concept for music videos that hasn’t been explored too often (exempting, of course, “Take on Me” by A-Ha, which is still one of the best music videos ever). The video starts off in a live action setting with an older man remembering the past, the animation providing for a striking break to show the story of his relationship with a dancer. The story continues on in live action, with Brandon Flowers as the younger version of the man from the beginning of the video. Does the connection between “Mr. Brightside” and “Miss Atomic Bomb” come through strongly enough? Did you like the combination of the live action and animated elements? Let us know in the comments!
