VG Tuesday: This Week’s Video Game News Round-up

Ubisoft announced yesterday in a press release that they would be releasing Anno 2027 in December 2011 for the PC. Anno 2027 takes the player into a new era and with new technologies and challenges. The game will feature new game mechanics, new gaming engine, new environments, and much more. “Due to the game’s futuristic setting, the development team wasn’t restricted by historical boundaries and was able to dream bigger than ever before. It’s a new take on a great franchise that both newcomers and longtime fans will love.” said Adam Novickas, director of marketing at Ubisoft. Anno 2027 will feature a brand new multiplayer experience. Edge Magazine has made a cover story for Max Payne 3. This Max Payne story will take place in São Paulo, Brazil, and he still looks like a slob (bald and brutish).  The Edge Magazine cover will hit UK Newsstands on April 12. Art Director Rob Nelson told Edge Magazine that Max Payne will be featuring NaturalMotion’s Euphoria animation engine to put together nicely the cinematic and interactive elements into the game. James McCaffrey will continue doing the voice for Payne in this sequel. Also, all the same mechanics in the previous games will be featured in Max Payne 3 as well. Call of Duty: Black Ops will be releasing a 2^nd Downloadable Content pack on May 3.  This report is from GAME Australia who released a flyer of the DLC. Reportedly, the DLC will be released for Xbox Live, and the DLC will feature four new maps which are the Zoo, the Convoy, the Hotel, the Stockpile, and a new Nazi Zombie Level called Survive. Gears of War 3 is going to release a multiplayer beta on April 18 – May 15. The game will be released on September. You can get into Gears of War 3 beta by owning a copy of Bulletstorm Epic Edition, but they are all sold out to receive the beta a week earlier, or if you pre-order Gears of War 3, you will receive the beta. The beta will feature four maps called Thrashball, Trenches, Checkout, and Old Town.
