Rockstar Releases L.A. Noire Outtakes

L.A. Noire has been out for a while now and it has enjoyed steady success ever since its release. Even after the closure of studio Team Bondi, the game was featured in the first Rockstar Games Collection and even its own Complete Edition. What made the game so insanely popular was the use of its next generation facial rendering technology. Team Bondi used a system called MotionScan which uses 32 separate cameras to accurately record nearly all of an actor’s facial features. Rockstar just recently released a compiled video of bloopers and outtakes from a few of their MotionScan recording sessions. With such detail and realism being captured and transferred to digital animation, it almost makes it uneasy to watch. The footage is hilarious nonetheless, seeing how the system behaves when an actor fumbles a line or messes up a cue. Check out the video below!

If you haven’t given L.A. Noire a try I highly recommend it; it’s an experience unlike any other video game I’ve played before. Team Bondi is currently working on a new IP entitled Whore of the Orient for next gen consoles. It looks like Warner Brothers has enough confidence in the studio to sign on as their publisher. Little else is known so we’ll have to wait and see what becomes of the new project. Until then, just stick with these quirky scenes from L.A. Noire. I plan on taking a dive back into 1940’s Los Angeles very soon to see what I have missed.
