Earlier this year Electronic Arts was named the worst company in America for the second year running. This year at E3 they brough out the big guns in what seemed like an attempt to get them out of the gutter. They showed off an impressive array of titles that are coming to many consoles and platforms. They also granted a few of gamers’ long awaited wishes along the way. Here are some of the games that EA showcased during their press conference.

Star Wars: Battlefront
One of the most notable announcements of the press event was the announcement of Star Wars: Battlefront. Fans have been begging for another installment to the franchise for years. After the downfall of the third game and the release of footage that showed the game near completion, it’s a relief to finally see that the title is back on track.

New installments of Fifa, Madden, and NBA Live were all showcased during the EA Sports presentation. Guest appearances by some of the world’s best athletes, along with a showing by Hip-Hop and R&B artist Drake, helped show off some of the new features coming with EA’s new Ignite engine. All of the new installments promise for better AI, interactive crowds, state of the art physics, etc.

Plants vs. Zombies
PopCap took the stage to announce another PvZ game, and confirmed earlier rumors by announcing that it will be a first person shooter oriented game instead of the trademark tower defense predecessor. Peggle 2 was also quickly announced at the end of the presentation.

Need for Speed: Rivals
The next need for speed title was revealed under name of ‘Rivals,’ a brand new edition of the franchise. We’ll have to wait and see if this new NFS brings anything else to the table that the slew of other racers haven’t already.

Mirrors Edge 2
Another game that fans have been clamoring for for quite some time now is Mirror’s Edge 2. DICE is finally delivering a sequel that will be hitting store shelves “when it’s ready.” I think gamers will without a doubt prefer a quality experience over a hurried release.

Dragon Age: Inquisition
The third installment of the Dragon Age franchise has been long awaited by fans. After the mixed reviews of Dragon Age II, everyone is eager to see what DA3 will have to offer when it releases late next year. We’ll have to wait a little longer though to hear more concrete details on the game’s story and gameplay.

Battlefield 4
The conference closed with a very impressive 64-player live demo of Battlefield 4. All 64 players took the stage to give us the ultimate showing of teamwork. Whether or not it will be possible to foster this kind of cooperation among all Xbox Live and PlayStation users is, unfortunately, probably slim to none.
