Music News: Silversun Pickups Announce Fourth Album

Los Angeles alt-rockers Silversun Pickups have announced that they will be releasing their fourth album this fall.

Better Nature will be released on September 25 by the band’s own label New Machine Recordings, their first album after leaving Dangerbird Record, with whom they recorded three albums. The album was produced by Jacknife Lee, who was also behind the boards of their last album, 2012’s Neck of the Woods.

In addition to the album, the band has opened a PledgeMusic page for pre-orders of the album, where fans can partake in several packages and bundles, from t-shirts and vinyl to, um, nightlights (you see, “Nightlight” is the name of the first single from the album).

Other limited edition packages include a lithograph of the album cover (222 left), a denim jacket with the band’s logo (50 left), and a snare drum signed by the entire band (14 left). So far several of the more inventive packages have already sold out, but you can still shell out $2,500 for one of singer-guitarist Brian Aubert’s Epiphone Sheraton II guitars, or one of bassist Nikki Monniger’s very cool Gibson Thunderbird basses (both instruments are signed by the members who played them).

You can view the album’s tracklist and cover below.
