E3 2012: The Last Of Us

Naughty Dog’s long awaited new game, The Last of Us, made its E3 debut last night as it concluded Sony’s E3 press conference. Following up footage from God of War: Ascension, The Last Of Us demonstrated its own brutal, gut wrenching gameplay. Protagonists Joel and Ellie find themselves making their way through a crumbling, overgrown city trying to reach a golden bridge in the distance. As the make their way through a set of buildings, they come across scavengers that they can’t avoid. The intense gameplay shown in the demo perfectly highlights the brutality of humanity when faced with the goal of survival.

This game will no doubt be rated M so usher any little siblings out of the room at your discretion. Beyond the brutality of the gameplay, the rest of the scenery and architecture look amazing. Naughty Dog has always been good with detailed environments and their legacy doesn’t stop with The Last Of Us. Check out the E3 premiere trailer below and see for yourself.
