Dishonored Walkthroughs Showcase Stealth vs. Violence

Dishonored, currently under development by Arkane Studios, is set to release this fall on October 9th. It blends both stealth and action alongside a world that is quite dreary and very much twisted. The protagonist of the story has been framed for the murder of the empress, whom he had served faithfully as one of her bodyguards. Now he is a wanted man, on the run from the both the law and society itself. Tasked with seeking justice and vengeance upon those responsible, the player is faced with a multitude of tactical and ethical decisions, resulting in uniquely different approaches to gameplay. These two demos take place in an around a bath house called the Golden Cat.

The first playthrough showcases one of the many stealth approaches to the scenario which, according to the creative directors, will be the most rewarding way to play the game. The second, on the other hand, decides to go more for the balls to the wall approach, hacking away at anything in sight. Both methods work, but yield very different rewards and consequences. One interesting piece of information is that you can apparently go through the entirety of the game without killing a single person. However you choose to play the game, Dishonored looks to be a blast for both the action-oriented individuals as well as the more sneaky types. Also, if you haven’t already, check out the original gameplay trailer for Dishonored that released just before this year’s E3.
