gamescom 2012: Trailer Roundup

If you missed GamesCom then your best bet is to check out some of the hottest trailers that were shown at this year’s press conferences. We’ve got some brand new IP’s, as well as some more in depth looks from titles that appeared at E3 earlier this summer.

The Last of Us

Naughty Dog continues to impress with more footage from their upcoming game, The Last of Us. Joel and Ellie seem to have no shortage of bad luck on their journey, but it looks as though Naughty Dog is cooking up one hell of an adventure for their fans to play through.

Rain

Rain is unique look on a familiar game mechanic where a character can only be seen in certain environmental situations. In this dreary and depressing world a young boy can only be seen in the rain, allowing for different approaches to 2D platforming.

Tearaway

Check out this brand new IP called Tearaway, for PlayStation Vita. The player must use the rear touch pad and other unique methods to manipulate the virtual world as if they were God overseeing all of their creations.

Star Wars 1313

First off, switch your YouTube settings to HD so you can watch this trailer in all of its next gen glory. Star Wars 1313 is as close to Hell as you can get in the Star Wars universe. This dismal and gritty place is home to the scum of the galaxy, so you can be sure that it’s going to be a bumpy ride for the game’s young protagonist.

Devil May Cry

If fast paced, hack and slash action is your thing then I bet you’ve already seen some footage from the upcoming Devil May Cry. Dante is back, with no shortage of unique humor and badassery. You can rest assured that you’ll also still be facing monstrously gigantic demons. It’s time to face your fears.

Lost Planet 3

Billions of miles away lies Earth’s only chance for survival. The resources that humanity needs must be brought back to support the growing civilizations. But it’s never that simple, is it? Lost Planet 3 puts you smack dab in the middle of an alien infested planet, where your only method of survival is to fight through the hoards of enemies. The extreme temperatures and environmental hazards don’t help your cause either.

Remember Me

Capcom’s also got a new franchise up their sleeve. Remember Me looks like it’s a cross between Assassin’s Creed and Deus Ex, bringing secrecy and stealth into a futuristic and oppressing world. Betrayed and on the run, the protagonist must remember who she is and what she is capable of, by any means necessary.
