Leave it to Square Enix to be one of the first developers to show off what the next generation of gaming will look like. They released a tech demo showing off gameplay that is completely rendered in REAL TIME. It’s important to know that this is not a pre-rendered cinematic but actual gameplay footage. The particle and lighting effects looks fantastic and I could easily get used to beards that actually look like beards. This Final Fantasy tech demo is not linked to any future game in development, just like Quantic Dream’s Kara demo, but it does give a good idea of what to expect in the future. The next generation looks pretty sweet, and I can’t wait to see how Square Enix’s game engine, Luminous Studio, looks on the new line of consoles.
