Sleepy Hollow got crazy in this week’s episode “Tomorrow,” which makes me wondering if the show writers had any clue back in season 1 that the show would turn into the time traveling dystopia it is now.
I have a feeling they didn’t because things are pretty wacky now with the episode starting with a glimpse into the future when Molly aka Lara found out the truth about Dreyfuss, time traveled to where we are now in the show and, on top of that, we saw Jenny’s execution by Diana aka The Horseman of War.
Back to the present, Crane has been shot by Dreyfuss and was turned into the Horseman of War instead of Diana. This causes a major dilemma for Team Witness, but that’s not all. No, not at all because guess who’s back in the game?
Denethor! I mean Henry Parish, Crane’s good-again-bad-again son, who has manifested as a result of Crane’s transformation and has come with a plan to unbind his son from the Horseman of War through a ritual.
I think it’s great that the writers decided to bring back this fan favorite from season 1, who has just been a thorn in Crane’s side for the entire duration of the show. While I’m not usually for bringing characters back from the dead, Henry Parish is a no brainier when it comes to the list of Crane’s enemies from the past Dreyfuss could use to take down Team Witness.
Team Witness has bigger fish to fry than Crane though; Dreyfuss is planning to raise an army of the undead to charge the Totem of War, which his lackey Jobe successfully does, sending the army of hessians to destroy Sleepy Hollow. Meanwhile Lara and Diana are working on the unbinding spell by challenging someone Crane loves, Diana apparently, so Lara can free him.
Trapped Crane isn’t having it though. He’s stuck in some sort of multicolored, glowing tower – a transformation chamber that looks like it belongs in a night club that’s slowly tearing apart Crane’s psyche. Molly’s bond with Crane is strong though, enough to destroy the Horseman of War inside Crane’s head. He’s no longer the Horseman of War and Molly gets shot out of his subconscious while Crane has one more demon to take care of; which is destroying the hessians raining down on Sleepy Hollow and saving Jenny, Jake and Alex who were doing an okay job at fighting them off until the entirety of the army rained down on them.
War isn’t gone for good though, Crane can still hear its call and the Horseman of War just needs a willing host.

Henry Parish, of course, whose gone a little mad and wants some hot tea with Dreyfuss before their plot to take over the world ignites.
While my feelings for this season’s Sleepy Hollow have been all over the place from love to hate to everything between. This week’s penultimate episode brought the drama and pushed the plot forward, which was moving at the speed of snail during the first half of the season.
Sleepy Head Highlight: “Who the hell is this guy?” Dreyfuss surprised when Henry Parish wanders out of the woods.
