Even in episode four of The Guest Book, Arlo still just could not get through to Woody and convince him to watch The Guest Book and I think Woody is making a grave mistake. Since the premiere, The Guest Book has significantly improved on engagement and definitely played up the humor.
Christy, played by the genius Jaime Pressly, is an ex-porn star and a drug addict. To make it through a weekend mountain trip with her new boyfriend Paul (John Ortiz), and his 8-year-old daughter, she eats two weeks worth of pot brownies. Christy left her life behind to be a “good girl” since Paul was the first decent guy she dated and now, it’s starting to catch up to her.
To hide her being effected by the brownies, during a game of hide-and-go-seek, Christy hides under the stairs and writes in the guest book about her very amusing high-as-a-kite adventures. After falling asleep for three hours under the steps, Paul calls the police to help look for her.
Paul and Officer Kimberly Leahy (Kellie Martin) take Christy’s ID around the town asking people if they know her. Of course, all the men think she looks familiar but it’s not until they are at the strip club that Walter, an old man in a wheelchair, states that Christy’s a porn star. Poor Paul’s life got rocked.
Paul’s daughter finds Christy under the stairs and in an attempt to keep her entertained and quiet, the still very high Christy puts on a ski mask, which makes her look like a robber. So classic. Paul and Officer Kimberly find them later giggling under the stairs. This leads Christy to an AA meeting before heading home.
The highlight of Christy’s story is that she finally had a breakthrough with the love of her life’s daughter and I’d like to believe they live happily ever after. But the best part about this episode was that Jaime carried it the entire way. “Story Four” was the episode with the least amount of people and it’s definitely been the best.
I said, in the very beginning, that I would never want to check into Froggy Cottage, but since the premiere of The Guest Book, every story has gotten better and makes me want to take a weekend trip to the quaint, and weird, mountain town.
