Wynonna Earp 2×11 Review: “Gone As A Girl Can Get”

Things are very different, yet kind of similar with Wynonna gone. Doc and Jeremy still work for Black Badge, but so does Rosita. Doc is in charge of the Revenants. Nicole is still a cop, but she’s not with Waverly. Waverly is going to get married to Guy. Bobo still came back to life, but he’s slightly out of his mind. The Widows still want Clootie alive.

The best part about “Gone as a Girl Can Get” was seeing how close or far the characters could be from the ones we know. For example, Doc could have completely gone down the evil path. It was also frustrating to see them not be as close as we once knew them to be. Haught wasn’t with Waverly and you could see how much she wanted to be with her. Doc kept giving Dolls the benefit of the doubt, but in the end they ended up killing one another. It was rough knowing how far they’ve fallen. It would’ve been better if the concept was two episodes instead of one.

Personally, I kind of felt bad for the Gretta. I know she messed up the reality they were in, but she’s grieving her sister. Granted the universe put her in check for messing things up, but I can’t help but feel a little bad for her. All she wants is her sister back just like everyone wanted Wynonna back (once they remembered her, of course).

The Widows continue to be useless villains. They never seem to be much of a threat until the plot calls for it. Now they have Bobo on their side who is truly someone to be worried about. Let’s not forget that they’ve raised their husband whose suppose to be a big threat. Hopefully he delivers in the finale. I will say The Widows can be slightly funny. The way they bicker about each other provides a couple of chuckles.

Now that Bobo is back it’s interesting to see what he’ll do next. We know his tragic backstory and what he wants is to stop going to Hell. Even if he teams up with Clootie, I can’t imagine him actually being evil. He’s just tired of all the torment. Hopefully Robert can catch a break.

Wynonna’s back, but so is the demon that put the curse on her family. Not to mention the baby might be coming. It’ll be intriguing to see if she’ll be able to lift her curse, and if she does, if it’ll come with any consequences. Then there’s being a mom which is a whole different adventure in and of itself. We’ll have to wait until next Friday to find out what happens.

Wynonna Earp airs Fridays at 10/9c on Syfy.
