Clootie has risen, but he’s too weak. I originally thought that he was going to rise very powerfully, but it turns out that he’s too weak, and I’m okay with that. Clootie didn’t need to rise this episode. He can rise next season and be the big bad. The Widows were the main antagonists of this season anyway.
Once again, The Widows disappoint. They didn’t do much other than bicker and spray venom on people. They weren’t actually much of a threat. Mercedes’ twist was a nice touch, but then they didn’t let her do anything special, so it felt like her getting powered up was completely useless. Although, that splitting bullet kill was awesome! Overall The Widows were bad villains. Hopefully their husband will be better.
On the subject of villains, there are now two of them who aren’t really villains at all. I’m talking about Bobo and Rosita. Personally, their stories are tragic. Both got unnecessarily cursed and have been trying to deal with it since it happened. Bobo only made a deal so that he’d stop going to Hell. He’s been there numerous times and is tired of going back. He just wants the torment to end. Bobo was one of Wyatt’s good friends, but no one feels for his pain, and now he’s trapped in a well. Rosita also wants to stop going to Hell. She helped out Dolls with his medicine and became good friends with Waverly, but apparently that wasn’t enough for Wynonna. Rosita’s sudden attack wasn’t a smart play, but she’s desperate. She played the good guy, but was still being treated like a bad person. I’m not sorry when I say that Wynonna and Doc seem like jerks when it comes to not giving these two Revenants a break.
Doc is now mortal, which will be interesting to see how he deals with that next season. It can be assumed that when you know you’re immortal, you probably act a certain way and are more likely to take risks, but Doc no longer has that luxury. Also, he’s been to Hell. It’s not clear whether he’d go back now that he’s back to the correct Purgatory, but if he is still destined for it, I imagine he’ll try to be nicer this time around.
A big flaw this season was the introduction of The Order. The idea of them being around was an intriguing one, but the show never did anything with them. They just randomly popped up, but there was no explanation as to where they’ve been all last season and why they weren’t helping from the beginning. The Order being in Dolls’ way didn’t help their case. Their reason made sense, but there’s no reason to like or understand them, so I was all on board with Dolls burning them. I hope The Order no longer exists and if it does, then it seriously needs an episode to explain why anyone should care about them.
We have to talk about the baby. Poor baby Alison is no longer in Purgatory, but it’s for the best. Turns out neither her or her Aunt Waves have Revenant blood. Yay! The question is: will she be gone forever?
Last but not least is Momma Earp. Where has she been? How long as Wynonna been speaking to her? What does Momma Earp know? Hopefully all will be revealed next season.
Wynonna Earp has been renewed for a third season and will continue airing on Syfy.
