Bachelor in Paradise Season 4 Finale Review

Chris dropped a bomb on the contestants that this would be their last day in Paradise. It was do or die for the couples and of everyone left, only three couples made it to the Fantasy Suite. But of the three, who actually made it to After The Final Rose?

Let’s break down what happened:

ABC

Robby and Amanda

Robby was excited for a future with Amanda but she told him through her tears she couldn’t see a life with him. After her being burned last year with Josh, she obviously has her guard up. Poor Robby just didn’t take it well.

ATFR: Amanda admits they rekindled their relationship right after Paradise but said they were no longer dating since he wasn’t ready for a relationship. Twins Emily and Haley interjected and said Robby was caught cheating on Amanda in Colorado. He obviously denied it but they both agreed, in the end, they were looking for two different things. Honestly, Amanda deserves someone stable and not involved with this franchise.

ABC

Dean and Danielle

Danielle was ready to dive into the relationship with playboy Dean while all of America was screaming “DON’T DO IT!” Dean admitted to Danielle that he was looking forward to meeting her in the beginning. However, after Kristina left, he realized he loved her and he owed it to Kristina to talk it out. Danielle is obviously taken aback when he said he loved Kristina, but was happy she kept it together.

ATFR: Kristina brings up talking with DLo and before a fight begins, Dean stops them and said the two shouldn’t be fighting each other since everything falls on him. He’s actually right for once. Dean said what hurt him the most watching the season was seeing Kristina cry because of him. DLo admitted that after they left Paradise, Dean called her and came over. Then Kristina said she thought her and Dean were trying again, but finally said enough is enough. Like Dean, buddy have you not learned your lesson? Your Bachelor dreams are done for sure.

ABC

Daniel and Lacey

I never expected Lacey to make it to the end after her rough start, but since Daniel’s arrival, she’s been on cloud nine. On their date she told him she was falling for him and he admitted that he was starting to fall for her too.

ATFR: Apparently what Daniel said in the Fantasy Suite was false, according to Lacey. Daniel makes it sound like they didn’t work out because of the logistics and not that he was lying about his feelings for her. The best part of their interaction was when Daniel said he didn’t know Lacey loved him even though he just watched her say it to him on camera five seconds beforehand. Lacey fabulously quoted Taylor Swift saying they’re “never, ever, ever getting back together.”

Adam and Raven

This was the surprise couple for me this season. Adam was all in, but Raven still wanted to see if they were compatible to be long-term. Adam said he’d never been this vulnerable with someone and that he’s falling for Raven. Raven, on the other hand, was a little hesitant in letting herself fall. I just wanted to shake her and tell her everything will be okay!

ATFR: Raven thankfully took the leap and spent the night with Adam. On After The Final Rose, they were so cuddly and cute on the couch that I thought their love was going to explode through the TV. They showed pictures of their travels since the show ended and I could hear the wedding bells. Raven even adorably surprised Adam by bringing her parents out so they could formally meet him.

ABC

Derrick and Taylor

Not surprised the power couple of Paradise or the “New Janner” made it to the end. The two of them couldn’t stop smiling while in the others’ presence. Derrick admitted he’s falling for Taylor while she was toeing the line, but not there yet.

ATFR: While not as touchy-feely as Raven and Adam, Taylor and Derrick were all smiles while in the hot seat. This is a sweet love story because they were both skeptical people in the beginning but after letting both of their walls down they were able to find eternal happiness. In a first for Paradise, Derrick got down on his knee and proposed to Taylor during ATFR and there wasn’t one dry eye in the audience.

ABC

For the “most dramatic season ever” of Bachelor in Paradise, season four was a roller coaster of drama and sometimes flat-out annoyance from the cast. This season would probably rank third of the four overall. However, with the “surprise” proposal and Dean being called out during the After The Final Rose, the finale was probably the best episode of this season. In pure Bachelor fashion, they went out with a bang.
