Awkward Just Got More Awkward

I’m not really sure how many people are fans of MTV’s Awkward, but I’m one who sat at the television every Thursday night at 10:30 pm. The romantic comedy is a television series that anyone would die over. There are so many relationships going on. in the show, that sometimes it’s even hard to keep up with, who’s hooking up with who? The most predominant relationship was the love triangle of Jenna, Matty and Jake. Tonight, the season finale, Jenna made her final decision: Team Matty or Team Jake? Personally, I was on Team Matty all the way since the beginning of the season. Matty is the hot, jock guy, who has a kind and sincere heart; the best of both worlds as Hannah Montana would say.

In the middle of the season, Jenna’s parents split up, which I think really screwed Jenna up. She literally became best friends with her guidance counselor, and every episode we would watch the guidance counselor act like Jenna’s BFF, as she would even call Jenna when she was at a party. In the season finale, it was confirmed that Jenna’s parents were sneaking behind Jenna’s back, and having an affair… with their spouse? Whatever it was, the parents are back together. Jenna notices something different in her life: life was good, things were okay, there were no more problems.

Jenna thought that it was too good to be true. She had Matty. She had parents who were sending her to a trip to Europe for the summer. But Jenna had an epiphany that she didn’t want things to be perfect, since she knew something bad was bound to happen. I mean, don’t we all think like that? Don’t we all think if, one day, we got back three tests, and got all A’s, a bad grade was bound to happen in the near future?

For Jenna’s cause, something pretty awkward happened. At a party, Jenna caught her best friend, Tamar, hooking up with her ex-boyfriend, Jake. Was Jenna mad? Surprisingly, no. Tamar was excited, and Jenna was happy for her. But you’re probably asking, how could you honestly be okay with your best friend hooking up with your ex-boyfriend? Only G-d and the writers knows the answer to that.

Clearly this show is a show with characters that don’t have rational thinking. But, it is definitely the show for you if you’re one to obsesses over stupid love dramas. I know I am; stuff like that makes me drool; it’s so fascinating. Next year starts the new season. Don’t miss out.

As Sadie would say, “Your Welcome.” Great show MTV, great show.
