Is there any hope left for the FOUTTE/HIVE alliance on Big Brother 20? That’s the looming question we were left with once Angie “Rockstar” got evicted. For the seventh week in a row, another blindside rocked the Big Brother house. However, what made this blindside even more bitter than the rest was the unbelievable lack of awareness that the FOUTTE/HIVE alliance had of the situation. You would think that after six weeks of betrayals/blindsides, the alliance would piece together the opposition members, but nope, they fell into the same trap yet again.
FOUTTE/HIVE’s problem is that they refuse to believe the other side of the house is in an alliance. We as viewers know the truth, but the houseguests can’t fathom this possibility. Instead of looking to others as candidates for who voted against them, they look within their own alliance instead – placing doubt on each other and questioning trust. Big Brother is a tough game that causes paranoia, but you need some level of trust to make it to the end. The FOUTTE/HIVE members don’t trust each other, and it’s causing them to place their hopes on houseguests who don’t have their backs.
If Rockstar, Haleigh, and Faysal (and Scottie to an extent) took the time to review the previous voting weeks, they would’ve discovered the presence of another alliance. While they could argue away its existence during the Week 1 vote of Steve, Swaggy C’s blindside in Week 2 is a glaring reveal. Seriously, Tyler blatantly manipulated Kaitlyn and got Swaggy C evicted! And, after six weeks of the same group of houseguests voting together (especially in opposition), the reasonable conclusion would be that Tyler, Rachel, Angela, Kaycee, Brett, Winston, JC, and Sam are working together. A half-decent Big Brother player would pick up on the obvious alliance.
The fact that FOUTTE/HIVE can’t comprehend the reality of the Big Brother 20 house is mind-boggling. Week 7 of Big Brother featured houseguests making assumptions that Tyler wouldn’t use the Power of Veto on Angela or Kaycee, that Tyler was a weak-willed and easily manipulated houseguest, and that their alliance had the votes to keep Rockstar. FOUTTE/HIVE made one bad move after another, regardless of their hands being tied by the BB Hacker twist. Mark my words, it will only get worse for their alliance.
Their bad week started with the nominations and their outcome only went downhill from there. After winning Head of Household, Haleigh should’ve nominated Tyler for eviction. Both Kaycee and Angela were good choices since neither was working with Haleigh, and keeping them around wouldn’t benefit her future. However, Tyler is the biggest threat to Haleigh’s potential. She made the first strike against Tyler during Week 6 using the BB Hacker twist, so he already knew that she wanted him out. No alliance could repair that doubt. Her best move would’ve been to place him on the block since he’s a HUGE challenge and social threat.
Kaycee winning the BB Hacker twist threw a huge wrench in FOUTTE’s/HIVE’s plans. Congrats to her for finally winning a competition, although it’s a shame that no one outside of her core alliance will ever give her the credit since they don’t know she won. Kaycee, unlike Haleigh in Week 6, used the twist correctly to her advantage and that led to the eviction of Rockstar. Her only misstep was going on the offensive when Rockstar accused her of being the hacker. You need to keep a cool head and not let the emotions mess you up. Kaycee let Rockstar have it. She’s lucky their argument didn’t blow up her game.
The return of the OTEV Power of Veto competition should’ve been a joyous celebration, but the poor gameplay kept on coming. Rockstar made one of the Top 5 worst moves in Big Brother 20 so far during the Power of Veto. WHAT WAS SHE THINKING?! Giving Tyler the answer to the question wouldn’t have helped her because (1) he wasn’t in her alliance, and (2) he would’ve been eliminated since he had the wrong answer, ensuring Haleigh or Rockstar would’ve won instead. She handed the victory to her enemy. Her action is almost reminiscent of Julia picking Austin for an elimination round in Big Brother 17. Rockstar will never hear the end of this terrible move.
Let’s take a moment to discuss Sam because her mental state has become a major concern to the fans and the segments. For the last few weeks, Sam made troubling comments about retaliation to other houseguests, as well as negative personal opinions about herself. Week 7 saw Sam mention alarming comments about herself, especially after finding out Tyler had kept the secret of the BB Power App from her all these weeks. These comments crossed the line into serious territory.

Sam needs to talk to the on-set CBS psychiatrist in the Diary Room because the reality of the Big Brother game might not be good for her. Not everyone is cut out to play an intense game like Big Brother, and while other houseguests have contemplated quitting or have mentioned negative comments, they’ve changed their minds after a short time. Sam, however, continued to get worse as the days went on, so assistance might be needed here. The best option could be to go to the jury house voluntarily.
Another troubling matter involved Brett and Angela. Do either of these houseguests want to win Big Brother? The goodbye messages, while insignificant at first, is the last mode of communication these players have with someone heading to jury/sequester. The fact that both houseguests LOVE to rub it in the faces of the evicted players will only hurt them in the end. Neither needed to kick Rockstar down with their goodbye messages. Their words only came across as petty. They’ll regret their videos when it costs them the victory.
Week 7 of Big Brother 20 slowed down the high-action momentum that propelled the season so far this summer. While we happily got another blindside for our list (thank you, Level 6), the series of events didn’t have the same punch we’d grown accustomed to so far. Rockstar and her allies didn’t expect her eviction, but we as fans knew it was coming once the Power of Veto was won. Another member of FOUTTE/HIVE left the Big Brother 20 house and if that alliance has any shot of surviving, they need to get their heads in the game. But we shouldn’t get our hopes up.
