Dynasty 3×06 Review: “A Used Up Memory” Reunites A Former Couple

What did Liam expect would happen during his reunion with Fallon on Dynasty? Did he not think that meeting with someone who loved him wouldn’t open old wounds? After the pair went their separate ways the previous week, Fallon honored Liam’s request to give him space, but he was the one who ignored that and sought her out yet again. His need to get clarity and his memories were greater than the confusion his reunion would cause. And, let’s not forget that Fallon offered MANY times prior to help him get his memories back, but he turned her down. Yet, now he was ready? I’m ecstatic for the return of their relationship; however, these latest actions didn’t shake the selfishness of Liam’s side.

Though, let’s talk about their reunion: so cute! There’s nothing like a grand romantic gesture that warms the heart. Liam and Fallon’s back-and-forth at the press conference had all the typical tropes from a romantic-comedy: the not-so-subtle references, the grand declaration of love, the running into each other with a passionate kiss, and someone from the crowd saying what we’re all thinking. Liam might not have all his memories back, but he finally got the sense to not let an amazing woman like Fallon Carrington fall out of his life. By reuniting their relationship, Fallon can help him recover all his memories and forget about Ashley like he should have done weeks ago.

The real threat now is Evan. Evan may have a cute smile and that successful boy-next-door quality, but he is dangerous and unhinged. Whatever reason he took Fallon’s hair for will probably be due to something nefarious … or like a creepy shrine in her honor. Liam and Fallon need to watch their backs because he has a serious anger issue.

Surprisingly enough, Adam wasn’t the evilest character of the episode. Him having to rely on Nadia has put the breaks on him being at the forefront of all the drama. Sure, he still got involved in Fallon’s love life and Cristal’s relationship with Blake, but with a proxy, Adam can only do so much. Though, he totally has Nadia wrapped around his finger! She might have willingly helped him and fostered their romance, but Adam played those cards to win her over to his side. There’s no way Adam didn’t manipulate her with his victim mentality.

Blake and Cristal played with major fire to ensure jury tampering. If the police or anyone even caught a single photo of Blake outside the compound, he would’ve been thrown back into jail in a heartbeat. Jeff is going to stop at nothing to bring Blake down completely. Blake’s odds of winning his trial are slim to none at this point.

Is anyone getting a “cult leader” vibe from Kirby’s new romance? This self-help guru came across creepy instead of reassuring. His expression was too calm and Kirby fell head-first into his quotes and expressions without a second thought. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kirby comes back from Savannah with a new brain-washed mindset and Sam/Anders has to save her life. Dynasty might be teasing this new development for her. (Also, I’m hoping that Sam’s delayed love life is holding out until he’s reunited with Steven again!)

Culhane’s new romance with Vanessa will throw a huge wrench into all of their plans. There is no way Dominique will let anyone or anything get in her way of making Vanessa a star, including Culhane. His deducing the truth of Dominique’s past with Vanessa might be the most dangerous development for his career. She will make sure that no one tells Jeff and Monica the truth about Vanessa. And let’s be real here, Vanessa is clueless if she thinks she can keep Dominique away from messing with her life and Culhane. When there’s a will, Dominique will find a way.

“A Used Up Memory” brought all the emotional feels and relationship drama for the cast. Some reignited their romances while others hit a major bumpy road. Fallon and Liam seem to be the only ones ready to hit smooth sailing, but even then, they have Evan to deal with. A lot of seeds were planted that will grow into chaotic soapy dramas in the next few weeks, and I can’t wait to watch it all happen.
