I know everyone is anticipating the premiere of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.—as they damn well should be, because it was awesome!

So here are a few juicy tidbits for all you fans just waiting to get your hands on Coulson. But first, if you don’t know what Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is then you clearly have no business here, and if you would like to know what Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is all about, then please refer to all the Marvel films, including all of the post-credits scenes. (Thank you, and try not to get Marvel mixed up with DC Comics; they are different.)

Once all the stars were introduced and of course a huge round of applause for, Clark Gregg, who plays Phil Coulson (Coulson Lives!) and the infamous and great Joss Whedon.* (If you don’t know who Joss Whedon is, I refer you to Firefly… and if you still don’t know, shame on you!) The moderator and executive producer Jeph Loeb started off with a few questions (no clips yet!), but once the audience got to ask questions, of course we were begging for something juicy to watch. Commence uproar!

So they graciously showed us—drum roll please—the entire pilot episode! The pilot was awesome. It had all the required elements of a great action and drama series, but they could tone down the attempts at comedic relief just a notch. There are a few surprises that I didn’t even see coming, and hopefully most, if not all of the actors we see in the pilot, stay through the entire series. As far as Coulson is concerned, viewers are going to get a good whammy, which will make you want to keep up with the rest of the season. In this episode, Coulson is just starting to get his team together, all the right gears so that this machine will run smoothly.

After recruiting the last few agents, a series of events leads them to a super, a person with supernatural abilities. This super is the next target, and I don’t mean that in a bad way. Sometimes like anything else, things go wrong, and it’s Grant Ward’s job to find this super and help them get their powers under control and bring them to the Coulson side (enter Star Wars reference here). Grant Ward, played by Brett Dalton (swoon!), is kind of an ass to put it bluntly. Until, that is, he gets a taste of his own medicine. Enter Skye, played by the wonderful Chloe Bennet (swoon, for the male counterpart), she is the protagonist in all this, you root for her and you want to see where her life goes from the first moment you meet her. She for the most part is the big question mark, that mysterious girl who you can’t help but love.

One more reason for me to keep watching is Fitz Simmons, played by Iain de Caestecker and Elizabeth Henstridge, and technically speaking they are two separate people but they act as one in many ways. Their dynamic plays so well with one another that as a viewer you kind of take them as one whole or a set. These two play the geek squad for the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, and trust me, without them the agents would be lost. But don’t take my word for it; watch the show for yourselves starting Tuesday September 24th at 8/7c on ABC.
