After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.
All Katy can do is survive.
Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?
Together, they can face anything.
But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on?
And will they even be together?
Prior to writing this review, I decided to take it upon myself to play a bit of the game with the Luxen geeks over on Twitter. Said game consisted of me posting torturous tweets from my personal account under the hashtag OriginFeels. Really, my tweets consisted of some vague and other not-so-vague reactions to the fourth yet-to-be-released book in the Lux series. We had people joining us from Brazil, Paris, and other crazy parts of the world where we had people up at 3 AM just to catch a glimpse of the action. It was absolute chaos, and while I was ready to drop dead due to exhaustion at the end of it all, the event was probably the most Twitter fun I’ve had in EVER. Yes, I am actually a quite boring and extra lazy tweeter, so this was just about as much fun as I’m ever going to have on that particular social network, considering I barely have any followers who aren’t much for reading after all that spam. So with that being said, I thought I’d pay a tribute to all our Luxen peeps and give you guys a sneak peak of all the things that went on over in the loony bin. Long and behold, just a minuscule of the agony I caused:

Moving things along, Origin really kicks things into gear starting from the first page. Considering the end of Opal, a kick starter was seriously needed and Armentrout didn’t fail to deliver the goods. Things pick up right where we were left off at and while momentum was kept, nothing was rushed or confusing about the style used. Even though we dived right back into the story, I wasn’t grappling to keep up with anything, which was great because we all know how fishy our memory can be after a few months of book depression following us around.

Action, people! We get a lot of this. I know some of you will like this more than others, and some not so much, but I can honestly tell you that isn’t at all overbearing and you aren’t going to want to jab your eye out because, I don’t care about action I just want Daemon. There’s so many plot lines going on in Origin that you’re going to lose your head with panic and anxiety and all those OriginFeels (see what I did there) that romance is going to be the last thing on your mind. Okay, not really, because all we care about is Kat x Daemon, but…
A lot of concerns I saw from people were regarding, but of course, Kat and Daemon romance. Will there be any? Will they get the reunion we’re all waiting for? What about Dawson and Bethany? While I can’t tell you—because HELLO ORIGIN IS NOT OUT YET PEOPLE DO YOU WANT THE BOOK MOB TO COME FIND ME AND CHOP MY HEAD OFF—ahem, any specific information, I can say that the romance we all want and love is delivered in more ways than one and no, I will not specify any more than that so don’t try because I won’t relent, as much as I want to. Don’t break me down, I beg you.
Is it weird that I’m kind of getting heart palpation’s just writing this little review? Good? Bad? I’ll let you decide.
My favorite thing about Origin was a specifically tasty new character and if you were following on our Twitter extravaganza you know exactly who I’m talking about, but for those of you who missed out on all the reindeer games, let it just be noted that there’s going to be a new tall, dark and handsome man in our favorite Luxen’s lives and I so ship us. Not possible, I know, but I can try anyways. *shrugs* Besides my new book boyfriend on the block, we get to meet a few other interesting people as well as see the return of other not-s0-friendly characters.

It’s safe to say that Jennifer seriously steps things up a notch in Origin and fans will not be disappointed as she finds a way to weave together all the romance, action, and drama the Luxen fans have come to love over the course of the series expansion. As always, we’ll be anxiously awaiting the currently untitled fifth book in the Luxen series, but until then, Origin is sure to quench all your greedy Luxen thirst.
