“Man On The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager” – Kid Cudi

By: Luciana Villalba

From Mr. Solo Dolo to   Mr. Rager, Kid Cudi does it again.

Starting off with his mixtapes, I could tell that Kid Cudi was a rapper like no other that later on everyone would be talking about. With his debut album, “Man On The Moon: The End of Day”, Kid Cudi blew my mind. Kid Cudi brought a whole new style to the industry, alternative hip hop mixed with psychedelic beats? Who wouldn’t love that?
Not only that, but Cudi talks about himself in his lyrics, rather than money and women like other artists in the game. If you’re a true Kid Cudi fan you know that Cudi shouldn’t be labeled only as a “hip hop” artist, he’s beyond that.

In “Man On The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager“, Cudi is back and better than ever.
Even though MOTM1 will always be my one true love, MOTM2 steps it up and so does Cudi. This time around he’s showing a darker side of him in the way that he takes you to experience another side of him that wasn’t shown in MOTM1. What I mean by that is: in MOTM1 Cudi tells you who he is and what are his dreams, in MOTM2 he tells you his inner struggles and obstacles he needs to overcome, and how now that he’s an established artist people’s expectations of him change. Songs like “Don’t Play This Song” and “These Worries”, both featuring Mary J. Blige show you what I’m talking about.

Cudi is the type of artist who can choose to make all of his songs hits (and they would be), but instead he is the type of artist who wouldn’t care about making music so mainstream, instead he intends to connect with his fans in the best way: through his lyrics.
In my opinion: when Cudi speaks you don’t just listen, you remember.

Some of my favorite songs are “Mr. Rager”, “Mojo So Dope”, “Maniac”, “Scott Mescudi vs The World” and “Wild’n Cause I’m Young”.

If you want to support one of hip-hop’s THE best artists at the moment, go ahead buy “Man On The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager”. Make sure you buy the Deluxe Edition because it comes with a 20 min video called “The Journey of Mr Rager” and shows you Cudi on tour if you want to check it out.
