This week’s episode of Nashville was a total bomb-dropper!

But, let’s start from the beginning.

Rayna is missing her girls after being on the road for so long. She decides to bring them and Luke’s son on a family day, but it doesn’t go smoothly when Daphne confronts Rayna about all the time she’s missing with them.

Teddy is getting tired of being the “boring” parent, and with Jeff’s advice, he proves to the girls that he’s just as much fun as Rayna. Rayna is highly upset at the fact that she’s missing monumental moments with her girls, but such is the life of a successful celebrity.

Jeff is helping Teddy get his mojo back, so to speak. But, what Teddy doesn’t realize is that Jeff’s whole plan is to make Teddy go against Rayna—using him to get revenge against her. There are more than double dates that Jeff has up his sleeve—he cannot be trusted!

Back on the Luke Wheeler tour, Will gets into serious trouble as he’s mugged in the park just for being gay. Deacon is catching on and being so understanding but Will is refusing any help. Oh Will, this will blow up in your face so terribly! I’m getting nervous as the time bomb is ticking down to the day he gets outed. It won’t be pretty—at all.

Moving forward—So. Much. Baby. News!

He knows! Avery knows, you guys!

How did Juliette break the news? She sent him a text saying, “I’m pregnant. It’s yours.”

Super classy. The sad thing is, I’m sure tons of guys have gotten text messages like that in this day and age. Anyway, Avery doesn’t react very well to the baby news. He isn’t sure if Juliette is telling the truth, and she refuses to answer any of his phone calls.

So the distraught boy decides to visit her movie set, and after being shut out by Juliette, he makes a scene outside of her trailer. He’s yelling at the top of his lungs and Juliette’s co-star Noah West (Derek Hough) overhears. Noah and Juliette have an intimate scene coming up for the movie, and Noah is so gracious in keeping her pregnancy secret. He’s a cutie!

But I’m still team Avery… I think!

Avery is totally confused about what he should do with this new baby that’s come into his life. He goes to Gunnar for advice, but he’s having baby issues of his own!

It turns out that his ex-girlfriend, Kiley, has a 9-year-old son. Kiley left town nine years ago and six months later had her son, Mica. She at first denies that Mica is Gunnar’s, but he and Gunnar eat fries with applesauce—genetics don’t lie, hello! Gunnar finally pressures Kiley and she tells him Mica’s his. Nashville just dropped a MAJOR BOMB! I literally gasped at this reveal.

Zoey is completely unaware, as she’s too busy on tour with Juliette. She’s moping about, being invisible on stage, and she suddenly gets her wish. As Juliette is performing, she begins to feel out of breath. Zoey notices, and as Juliette exits the stage, she steps in and takes over the song. She gets her big break on stage just as Juliette passes out in Noah’s arms backstage. Are Juliette and her baby going to be okay?!

Not to mention that Juliette ending up in the hospital could mean having her secret uncovered by all of the press.

Nashville picked up the pace, and I am so glad! I thoroughly enjoyed this episode! I appreciate that they didn’t drag out the major plot points. They also were able to surprise me—I was not expecting Gunnar to end up being a father! They got me so good!

While they tied up loose ends, such as Avery finding out about the baby, they also opened up completely new plot points. I’m getting more and more excited for the following episodes!
