When we talk about creativity in the music industry, a few names come to mind. Thom Yorke, Radiohead‘s frontman is one of those musicians who always bring new sounds and interesting ways to share music. Just a few days ago, it was revealed that he recorded a song that lasts eighteen days, let me repeat that…. 18 DAYS! Why would he do that, you ask? Because he can, and because he is Thom Yorke.
Actually, the answer is much more simpler than that. The song “Subterranea” – which lasts 432 hours, that’s 25,290 minutes – was composed by Yorke to cover an 18-day art exhibition called “The Panic Office” in Sydney, Australia done by Stanley Donwood, English artist who has designed all of Radiohead’s album covers. The track consists of a mixture of experimental and ambient sounds which were created especially for the show that is currently open in Sydney’s Carriageworks until June 6. Sounds interesting, doesn’t it?
