World Premiere – The Divergent Series: Allegiant

This week I had the incredible opportunity to attend the World Premiere for The Divergent Series: Allegiant. The Young Folks were invited to attend the red (black) carpet, the screening of the movie, and the after-party.

(Michael and I)

The entire thing was such a surreal experience, from seeing the stars walk past on the red carpet and getting a selfie with Veronica Roth, to walking around the after-party and almost running into Ansel Elgort and Theo James (literally).

I got to the theater around 5 pm and waited inside to pick up our tickets. It was raining and windy and I think the carpet set up had been a little delayed due to the weather. I chatted with Ronni from The Theologians and Erin from Once Upon a Twilight while waiting in line (check out her recap here). Michael from The Young Folks also got to attend and the night was much more enjoyable having friends to experience it all with.

When everything was all set up, the fansites were escorted to the fan section of the red carpet. The carpet was bursting with energy even before the stars began to arrive, thanks to a DJ who was playing lively music. Once the stars began to arrive, everything moved very quickly. It was all I could do to keep up with taking photos, Tweeting and Instagramming them, and enjoying the experience! A lot of the stars stopped to take pictures and sign for the fans before being rushed down to the media outlets for interviews. We saw Shailene Woodley (Tris), Theo James (Four/Tobias), Naomi Watts (Evelyn), Jeff Daniels (David), Ansel Elgort (Caleb), Zoe Kravitz (Christina), Miles Teller (Peter), Keiynan Lonsdale (Uriah), Maggie Q (Tori), Ray Stevenson (Marcus), Bill Skarsgard (Matthew), and Nadia Hilker (Nita). Author of The Divergent Series, Veronica Roth, was also present and took a lot of time to talk to the fans.

These are some of the pictures I snapped and shared throughout the night:

(The only thing I regret from the night is that we didn’t get to keep the tickets to the after-party. They were all different and would have been a great keepsake from the night!)

The after-party was even more surreal than the red carpet and screening of the movie. Within the first few minutes, I walked past Ansel Elgort, Naomi Watts, Maggie Q, and Zoe Kravitz multiple times. There was a VIP section that the cast and crew and their families had access to, but I was really touched to see how many of them came out to chat with the other people at the party. I ended up getting to talk to Veronica Roth and Keiynan Lonsdale for a few minutes each and they were both incredibly nice and down-to-earth. I also ran into producer Pouya Shahbazian and talked with him for a few moments.

Overall, it was a great experience and I am so grateful I was able to be a part of it. Huge thanks to Lionsgate for inviting us to the premiere and after-party and keeping us so involved in The Divergent Series!

My review of the movie is coming later today, so keep an eye out for that. And make sure to enter the giveaway we are running for an Allegiant Prize Pack – it ends in just 2 days!
