With a combination of blues, storytelling, and catchy tunes, Sinclair’s music is unlike any other.
Born in upstate New York, this artist is a competitive classical guitarist and her musical talent only continues to grow. However, her life was not always smooth sailing. Sinclair had to break the news to her family, including her pastoral father, and tell them that she was a lesbian. At age 20, it was a life-changing event. Since then, the family bond was not the same, so she packed her bags and moved to Nashville.
While in Nashville, Sinclair hoped to gain her identity both as a person and as a musician. Since her arrival, she has toured with musicians such as Ingrid Michaelson and Graham Colton, which instantly made her a raising star. In 2013, Sinclair got signed by an independent label, Drive Music.
Her new single, “Holla,” will be available on her upcoming EP that will be released early next month on Drive Music. This single sets the tone for her music and allows listeners to hear more about her story. Her music speaks to a wide audience and is relatable in many different ways. Her story is filled with self-discovery, struggle, and hope; I cannot wait to hear more music from her so I can learn more.

“‘Holla’ is funny because it’s not really speaking directly to anyone. With that said, I think of myself when I sing it. I want to encourage people to let go and try things – be yourself. Before I came out to my parents, I was scared. Everything was out of bounds and I needed a release – ‘Holla’ feels like that release.” – Sinclair in a recent interview with NYLON.
