Stitchers offered some new relationships, wonderful representation, and a new case in its latest episode. Some we had to have seen coming, specifically Cameron and Kirsten who kissed after Kirsten saved the day. It wasn’t clear if their relationship was finally going to escalate but that was answered, at least for now.
But the biggest star this episode was Camille, no question about it. There were some glimpses of her personal life being shifted around, but there was also her career that took an interesting turn.
Now, ever since I first heard that Camille was going to have a female love interest, I was beyond excited. Last season it was revealed that Camille was queer when she referenced having relationships with men and women. That was a wonderful little slip, but it is even more special to have that explored even more. I never say no to more bi representation and Camille is the badass lady we are always waiting for.
Camille and Amanda had an adorable meet cute, having Amanda as the medical examiner who actually knows about the Stitchers program was laying some nice foundation. But while Camille was smitten by Amanda from the very beginning, she was still working on trusting new people and I loved how realistic that was without driving too big a wedge between her and Amanda.
Camille was such a bright and love struck lady this week, all of which I am here for. That moment when she returns to the lab after making out with Amanda and not knowing how to keep a straight face might have been my favorite, that is if we are not counting the final Camille/Amanda scene at the club because that was the true scene-stealer.
For now it seems like they are on the same page and all this promise of a happy Camille is making my day. Especially considering her work environment just got a little chilly, setting up for an interesting future arc.
Maggie promoting Cameron over Camille was strange, mostly because not even Cameron saw himself leading the team in that kind of position. And Maggie wasn’t unaware of Camille’s feelings about this, she knew that this would have meant a lot to her. Trusting Ivy might still be up in the air, and as much as I want to say I trust her completely, I would also not mind her turning on them because that would be unexpected after how much she is helping them.
Cameron and Kirsten are figuring out their relationship, and I’m happy that things are going smoothly for now. They still have their easy-going banter, but now Kristen is all into a relationship and I can’t wait to see where they will end up. I am wondering though what Cameron’s new position will bring to their relationship, and what decisions might come because of that.

And because I am all about the slight mystery that we are meant to keep an eye out for, what is going on with Kirsten’s stitches?
The first one was a bit blurry and even though Cameron pointed it out, it wasn’t meant to be the center of the episode so it kind of faded away. But I really have to know what is going on, mostly because I am very curious about where stitching itself might go this season.
Not everyone might be a fan of the procedural type of investigations that happen alongside the overarching mystery of the season, but I am all for some interesting stitches in the future. It not only sets the basis for the show itself, it also connects everyone as a group and has them going on some crazy adventures. For example: Cameron and Kirsten in the mud while thinking they will also make it to their date was perfection.
Linus and Ivy kind of came out left field for me, I saw a friendship, but romance was not on my radar at all. I’m not sure how much I’m rooting for them yet (status pending based on Ivy’s behavior in the next episodes) but Linus having someone of his own right now isn’t such a bad idea. As much as the others might be there for him, they are also all dealing with their own issues. Linus not only has someone who understands what he is going through right now, his growing relationship with Ivy also gives him something positive to look forward to.

The case this week wasn’t very eventful, it was a sequence that worked out successfully and didn’t steal the focus from the characters too much. There was more to be concerned about when it came to the relationships and the characters themselves so I was glad we didn’t get too wrapped up in this specific case.
Overall the season is off to a great start, Cameron/Kirsten getting explored is a huge plus and Camille getting a new love interest that offers more representation is only doing more wonders in my book. But with all these hopeful possibilities comes drama and friction, both of which I am ready to get to as well.
