From Break-ups to Babies: Ranking the Couples of Bachelor in Paradise

After a lot of controversy and an almost cancellation, season 4 of Bachelor In Paradise is almost upon us.

While countless singles have hit the beach (and bar) of Bachelor in Paradise, only 7 couples have actually survived the sand. As we prepare for what might honestly be “the most dramatic season yet” of, in my opinion, the best series in The Bachelor franchise, let’s take a trip down the aisle by ranking the 7 couples who made it to the final rose of Paradise.

ABC

7. Michelle Money and Cody Sattler (Season 1)

Status: Over

Michelle and Cody are no. 7 because I honestly forgot they were a couple. They were constantly on and off again throughout the first season in 2014 and didn’t officially breakup until 2016, when they were on WEtv’s Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars.

ABC

6. Lacy Faddoul and Marcus Grodd (Season 1)

Status: Divorced (kind of)

The other couple to make it out of the 2014 inaugural season was Lacy and Marcus, when he proposed at the final rose ceremony. They even made it down the aisle in 2015, which aired during Paradise season 2. However, that didn’t last. The two broke up in 2016 and US Weekly reported that their nuptials were never legal in the States. Marcus told the magazine that he felt played by Lacy after the fact.

ABC

5. Amanda Stanton and Josh Murray (Season 3)

Status: Over

No. 5 would have to be the “it” couple of season 3. Amanda and Josh couldn’t keep their hands off of each other the entire season. You rarely saw the two and when you did, they were either making out or defending their relationship. The relationship was rocky from the start as Amanda’s friends warned her about Josh after former Bachelorette (and Josh’s ex-fiance) Andi Dorfman wrote about their relationship in her book. But all seemed well after Josh proposed in Paradise and moved to California to live with Amanda and her daughters. It wasn’t until January of 2017 that they announced their split, which led to even more drama than before.

ABC

4. Lace Morris and Grant Kemp (Season 3)

Status: Over

Season 3 was the season of love as Grace (Grant and Lace) was born. Sadly, the couple I was rooting for had a short-lived romance and ended their engagement in November of 2016. They were a fan-favorite couple as Grant constantly tried to show Lace how great she was. They even got matching “Grace” tattoos during their season, which TMZ reported in January of 2016 that Grant covered up with a black rose tattoo. Ouch.

ABC

3. Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon (Seasons 2 and 3)

Status: BFFs

While Ashley and Jared were never “official,” I always shipped them. If they ever were a real couple, they would be no. 1 instantly. But, because they are more of a friendly couple they take the no. 3 spot. The two met in 2015 in season 2 when Ashley attempted to court Jared. It sadly didn’t work out as Ashley cried a lot, but she did try again in season 3. While she said she wouldn’t cry as much, they still didn’t work out. Luckily, the two I shipped the hardest remain BFFs to this day.

ABC

2. Carly Waddell and Evan Bass (Season 3)

Status: Married

While all the other couples from season 3 bit the dust, the one couple I didn’t think would even get together tied the knot near the Paradise beach in June. Carly and Evan’s relationship was off to a weird start as Evan tried pursuing Carly. It wasn’t until Evan landed himself in the hospital on-air that their relationship took a turn down the aisle. After Carly accepted Evan’s final rose in season 3, the two have been living happily in Nashville with Evan and his sons.

1. Jade (née Roper) Tolbert and Tanner Tolbert (Season 2)

Status: Married, Expecting first child

The hands-down best couple from Paradise is Janner. While season 3 was full of drama, Janner was there to give us hope. Jade and Tanner fell in love within seconds of their feet touching the sandy Mexico beaches. Their love stayed strong after Tanner proposed at the final rose ceremony and the two later had a 2016 January wedding in California. The two have kept busy since then, building both a house and a family. The two are expecting their first child, a little girl, in September.

Season 4 of Bachelor in Paradise premieres on Monday, August 14 on ABC at 8/7c.
