It’s been almost a month since The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina left its magical mark on our Netflix binge-watch lists. The deliciously dark 10-episode first season brought us into Sabrina Spellman’s new world of sinister spells and deception. Obviously, we were hooked right from the start! Regardless of whether you had an undying love for its TGIF predecessor, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, there was so much to love about this new and wickedly witty show. filled with heart and fire. Below, we’ve picked out our top 10 favorite moments (this list was so hard to narrow down to just 10!) from the first season that we loved and had our jaws on the floor.

10. SABRINA IS A DANCING QUEEN
Before we get into the creepy, crawly demonic world of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, we can’t forget some of the light-hearted moments, too. During the first episode, Sabrina feels on top of the world and busts a move inside her house. She lets out her joy with several dance moves that you need to see for yourself. This won’t be the last time Sabrina dances her way into our hearts, but this moment was definitely iconic.
9. THE GHOST CHILDREN FIGHT BACK
Talk about a shocking twist we didn’t see coming! Sabrina’s first friend encounter at the Academy of the Unseen Arts turned out to be a ghost all along. Witches and warlocks were being murdered in hazing rituals gone terribly wrong and Sabrina was going to be the next target of the Weird Sisters if she didn’t do anything about it. This twist caught us off guard, but Sabrina teaming up with the ghost children to magically get back at the Weird Sisters was perfect justice. Sabrina doesn’t just get even, she comes to collect with payback.
8. RIVERDALE CONNECTIONS
If you didn’t already know, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is somewhat a sister show to The CW hit, Riverdale. Originally, TCAOS was supposed to be on The CW first before it headed to Netflix, but the acknowledgments were still kept in. It also helped that the connections were from the source material, tied together by the executive producer who is in charge of both shows. There were a few Easter eggs in the first season to tie to Riverdale. However, the favorite was the arrival of Ben Button as the pizza delivery boy. Oh Ben, you always get yourself wrapped up in trouble.
7. SABRINA RAISES THE DEAD
If there was a moment where Sabrina crossed the line into dark territories, it was with this curse. Sabrina, along with a motley crew of witches and warlocks, sacrificed a witch to bring Harvey’s brother, Tommy, back from the dead. Everything about this scene showed a new side of Sabrina that we weren’t prepared for, but the shocking twist blew our minds. Would you ever think Sabrina Spellman could commit murder, even if it wasn’t real?
6. AUNT ZELDA LETS HER FEELINGS SHOW
One of the biggest character surprises was that Zelda Spellman was more strict, rigid, and unwavering in her support of the dark side. Whereas Hilda showed affection to her niece, Zelda thought of only appearances and being a loyal servant instead of caring about her family. But, in the moments where Zelda let down her guard and opened up, those scenes showed a new side to the matriarch. The biggest turn came while in the dream world, when Zelda thought she’d killed Hilda for good. Her heartbreaking confession brought on all the tears. Deep down, Zelda does love her family, and being without them is her biggest nightmare.
5. SABRINA TELLS HARVEY THE TRUTH
All of our hearts broke when the perfect duo of Harvey Kinkle and Sabrina Spellman broke up. The truth needed to come out eventually because she couldn’t keep him in the dark forever regarding her being a witch. However, their relationship was so tender and sweet: a fan’s shipping dream. Their heart-to-heart chat is a moment that you can’t miss because of its importance, even if we wish it never happened.

4. PRUDENCE AND SABRINA BOND
You can’t deny the sheer awesomeness of Prudence. She’s the perfect villain you love-to-hate with all the witty one-liners. Plus, she just loved being bad! When Prudence was selected Queen of the Feasts (and Sabrina as her handmaiden), Prudence decided to stay with Sabrina to bask in the luxuries of being waited on hand and foot. Instead of being a recipe for disaster, the two bonded and learned to appreciate each other.
3. SABRINA ASKS HARVEY TO FIND THE BIRTHMARK
As mentioned previously on this list, Sabrina and Harvey had a sweet and tender relationship before things went to hell. One of the obvious facts was that they never took their relationship to the next level. So, the scene where Sabrina asked Harvey to check her body for a devil’s mark was new territory for them. Harvey looked positively ecstatic while Sabrina still had fear of being branded a witch in her court trial. Their kiss quelled any fear and confusion between them though. This moment was a big step in their relationship.
2. SABRINA DOESN’T SIGN THE BOOK
In a moment that shocked every witch and warlock in Sabrina’s life, she chose to run away from her Dark Baptism on her 16th birthday. All signs pointed to doubt and fear within her, so she followed her gut instead of signing her name in the Devil’s book. Her refusal to complete the ceremony triggered a domino effect for the rest of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and it showed that Sabrina cared about more things in life than her magical duties.
1. SABRINA BURNS THE TREE AND HER HAIR CHANGES COLOR
The most pivotal moment for the future of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina was when she reluctantly signed her name in the book. By completing the ritual, she got the power needed to stop the ghosts of The Thirteen and saved her loved ones in the process. But, the moment that changed Sabrina’s path was when she set the tree ablaze and her hair turned white-blonde. Let’s call that “The Craft moment” because she flexed her magical abilities and fell deeper into the dark side. The old Sabrina Spellman isn’t here right now, but this new wicked Sabrina will no doubt cause a lot of trouble during the second season.
