TV News: ‘Boy Meets World’ Is Getting a Sequel Series?

TVLine revealed that Ben Savage is in talks with Disney Channel to create a sequel series to 90s sitcom (and integral part of ABC’s TGIF lineup) Boy Meets World. The series would be called Girl Meets World and would follow high school sweethearts Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence’s daughter. The hope is that Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel would come back to play their famous roles, this time as parents.

My deep and abiding love of the original Boy Meets World series means that I am highly skeptical of anything that could mess with its legacy. If they’re going to do this, I hope that the correct people write it, most of the original cast comes back, and that Cory and Topanga’s daughter isn’t played by someone incredibly irritating. Basically, I’m asking for a sequel series miracle. Regardless of whether or not my wish list is met, you can bet I’ll be watching this if it comes to fruition.

What do you guys think about this news? Good thing? Bad thing? Good thing but they should really call it Girl Gets Acquainted with the Universe in reference to that episode in which Eric was going to be a Hollywood actor and was on a show that was the exact opposite of real life? Let us know in the comments!
