Hulu’s ‘Veronica Mars’ teaser trailer is everything a Marshmallow could want

Marshmallows everywhere, rejoice! We officially have a full-length teaser trailer for Hulu’s new Veronica Mars series! Following three seasons on UPN/The CW and the rapidly-funded Kickstarter movie, this new series is a direct continuation (featuring many members of the original cast) that will pick up where the movie left off, with titular heroine Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell) back in Neptune as the town’s number one private investigator and resident pain to the town’s morally-deficient population. This time, Neptune requires her services because someone is planting bombs during various spring break activities, threatening the lives–and tourist money–of the town.

Opening with “When your best friend is murdered before your seventeenth birthday, you don’t develop a keen sense of mercy,” the trailer calls back to the show’s original mystery and promises that Veronica is still ruthless, witty, and just as quick to use her taser when the time calls for it (with droll remarks to spare). Based on the trailer, it looks like this new series will capture the essence of the original series perfectly. We’ve got our favorite tiny blonde one, a new mystery, more neo-noir danger, and, of course, gratuitous Baywatch-style shots of Logan Echolls (Jason Dohring) as he walks out of the ocean with his surfboard. Frankly, July 26th can’t come soon enough.
