1. Allison is approached by the Kanima.
After chaining Scott in the Laheys’ basement freezer, Allison meets the Kanima, the new human-sized lizard being responsible for the recent deaths in Beacon Hills. HUMAN-SIZED LIZARD.
2. Stiles and Derek take a swim.
This isn’t some sort of Sterek fanfiction plot point (or IS IT?!)–the Kanima catches up with Stiles, Derek, and Erica, quickly knocking Erica away and slashing Derek with its paralytic venom. Noting its fear of water, Stiles keeps the paralyzed Derek afloat in the middle of the pool until Scott shows up to help.
3. Grandpa Argent stabs Scott.
Scott and the Argents all thought they had Grandpa fooled on the whole Scott-being-a-werewolf thing until he ran a knife through Scott and delivered a chilling speech about how much he wouldn’t hesitate to kill Scott or his completely human, innocent mother to destroy a werewolf threat. And you thought Daddy Argent was intense!
4. Jackson is the Kanima.

While everyone’s sitting around, thinking Lydia’s the Kanima and either devoting themselves to protecting or killing her, Jackson shows us some scale.
5. Derek bites Mama Argent.
As a result, Mama Argent makes the decision to end her own life rather than live as a werewolf, sending Allison off in a militant tailspin until the end of the season.
6. Isaac finds his anchor.

On the night of the full moon, the new werewolves all attack Derek—until Isaac uses his memories of his father to anchor himself to his human side and helps Derek regain control of Erica and Boyd.
7. Matt is the mastermind (and creep) behind the Kanima’s killing spree.
In addition to being a creepy weird stalker obsessed with Allison in the Swimfan way, Matt is the one siccing Kanima-Jackson on his unsuspecting victims. He’s got a reason, but the dude is crazy.
8. Isaac sides with Scott.

Isaac goes back on his decision to run and returns to help Scott take down Jackson without killing him. And looks fantastic doing so. Sorry, my shallow side came out for a minute. Wait, I’m not sorry. Carry on!
9. Jackson dies.
Turns out the person at the lacrosse game the Kanima was instructed to kill ends up being quite the twist–Jackson takes his claws to himself, causing chaos to break out. In that chaos, Stiles disappears and we all wait with bated breath to see if he’s okay.
10. Lydia de-Kanimas Jackson.
Despite knowing the danger involved, Lydia goes after Kanima Jackson with the help of Stiles to try to bring him back. Her returning of his house key puts Jackson in touch with his human memories again. He shifts into very blue-eyed werewolf before he is human once more.
Based on the “THIS MIGHT HURT” promotions, it looks like we’re in for just as much if not more pain in season three. We’ll see what happens in tonight’s premiere!
