In case you haven’t heard, Tangled is headed to the small screen!!

Disney announced that it is developing an animated series based on the hit 2010 film. The Disney Channel show is set in between the end of the original film and the beginning of the 2012 short Tangled Ever After. Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi will each return to reprise their original roles as Rapunzel and Flynn Rider (or should I say Eugene).

It will follow the adventures of Rapunzel (Moore) as she begins to build a relationship with her parents, the citizens of Corona, and her kingdom. As she begins to navigate her way through life as a royal, she quickly realizes that there is a lot more she needs to learn before she can fully accept her destiny. So, she puts her wedding on hold and goes off in search of an epic adventure. This clearly does not go over well with her father, the King. Joining Rapunzel on her journey will be her two animal sidekicks Pascal and Maximus, the band of thugs from the Snuggly Duckly, and Cassandra, Rapunzel’s handmaiden/confidant.

Composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slate (who both did the original score for the movie) will return as songwriters for the series.

The series is slated to premiere on Disney Channel in 2017.
