For a heart-wrenching drama, it was nothing but fun at the panel for Starz’s hit show Outlander at Comic-Con International this past weekend. From drinking games to cosplaying, frontrunners Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan show that they’re more than the tortured lovers that they portray.

The second season will be based on Dragonfly in Amber—the second book of the series—and will be making the big move to France. Ron Moore, the show’s creator, discussed the big transition from the first season to this one. “Claire and Jamie are trying to stop the Jacobite rebellion,” he says. “It’s going to be a brand new Outlander this season.” Obviously they had to make some changes, but Moore feels that they preserved the essence of the novel.

The cast took a break from talking to entertain the fans with a little bit of fun. They participated in a hilarious drinking game where they had to recite 50 Shades of Grey lines without smiling or laughing. After, they put a coat and eyeliner on Heughan to have him resemble Colin O’Donoghue’s Hook from Once Upon a Time, resulting in heavy applause and laughter.

But of course, it wouldn’t be a Comic-Con panel without some exclusive footage to tease and titillate.  The audience was treated to an exclusive look at a second season filled with blood, sex, and beautiful French attire. They were also treated to the season one gag reel—which will be available on the season one DVD release in September.

Diana Gabaldon, the author of the series, will also be contributing by writing her first episode for the series. However, as of now, she is not set to have a cameo appearance.  She says that she would love to do it again if the opportunity arises, but writing is her first priority.  When asked about the ending of the series, she simply said that she knew the ending fifteen years ago and that Moore is one of the only people who know the ending. Shall we make a bet and see if she or George R. R. Martin finishes first?

Outlander will be returning in 2016.
