Week two of The Bachelor Winter Games brought the fire as we experienced tears, fights and the first flames of love between some couples.
This week’s challenge forced all the lovebirds to speed skate for a date. And who is the best skater, you might ask? The Canadians of course. But what makes this challenge great was that Chris Harrison pulled the ultimate twist and had the losers from the semifinals race in the final for the date cards. Honestly, this is the most fair thing because the Americans suck at winter sports and this evens the playing field for everyone who is not from a cold country.
In the end, Dean (USA) and Stassi (Sweden) win the dates meaning Lesley (USA) gets her alone time with Dean and country boy Luke (USA) gets to see what it’s like dating a Swede.
Now to the juicy parts. Of all the fights and confrontations we start with Jordan Mauger of New Zealand. When everyone comes back from the skating rink and they meet the former New Zealand Bachelor bad boy who apparently flipped a coin to choose his final woman.
This of course riles up the American men who couldn’t believe someone would do that to a woman. This leads America’s Bachelor Ben to be the savior and question Jordan in front of everyone about his intentions. But I’ll say Jordan did a great job spinning his decision to toss a coin into a good thing. He told the crew he wants to find something real that he didn’t find on his season. Because he “owned up to his mistakes,” everyone is cool again. It’s basically summer camp in the cold.
Once everyone decided Jordan was cool to join the group, all eyes turned to Benoit (Canada), who decided to go home after Clare (USA) wasn’t giving him the time of day. Instead of staying and trying to connect with more people he decided if Clare didn’t want just him, he didn’t want to be there.
This show has been a giant experiment of sorts to see how the different countries interact. It’s interesting to see the dynamic because the Americans want to see their options and meet different people while the other contestants all zone in on one person.
Speak of zoning in on one person, Clare must be the best target because she is who Christian (Switzerland/German) has his eyes on, too. He gets mad at Clare for not going into the hot tub with him when she didn’t know she was supposed to. But she says she’s been there trying to get his attention but he’s always asleep or elsewhere. This annoyingly goes on for a third of the episode and was the most pointless argument because in the end she accepts Christian’s rose.
Yes, during this rose ceremony Chris changes things up once again and has the men handing out the roses. This leads to Rebecca (Finland) and the lone Finlander Jenny to go home.

This episode definitely picked up the pace from the premiere so here’s to hoping we get more surprise guests and snowy drama.
