Bluepoint Games is Working On Another, ‘Bigger’ Remake. It’s Hiring, Too.

“Do you feel like being remade, punk?”

Well, perhaps Bluepoint Games, the company known for porting the first three Uncharted titles and—most recently Shadow of the Colossus to PS4, isn’t that aggro in meetings, but being confident is totally valid when your results are widely acclaimed. On Sunday, Eurogamer found out that the Texas-based developer is currently working on another remake that is larger in scope. Larger. In. Scope.

“[Shadow of the Colossus] served us as a great point of growing the art team to the point where we can take on a full triple-A game major scope of art content,” said Marco Thrush, Bluepoint’s president and co-owner. “So now our next step is, let’s improve the art pipeline, let’s improve the engine, let’s improve workflow for artists, let’s grow on the art side some more to handle our next project because it’s a bit bigger.”

Thrush also answered Eurogamer’s question of whether the company’s next project is going to have “A Bluepoint Game” tag on the box down the line, aka original, with an enticing “could.” The coy game is strong, y’all!

What’s more definite though is that the company is seeing an increase in both personnel and expertise, according to Peter Dalton, Bluepoint’s technical director. He hopes the evolution will continue to where “doing original development or whatever comes our way, we’re fully capable of doing it.”

The interview ended with Thrush saying that the team is looking for new blood. At the time of writing, the majority of the openings are notably art team-oriented, so apply away (and give us the scoop after? Meet us in a darkened parking lot with a manila folder in one hand and a lit Malboro on the other?).

Unsurprisingly, the mystery project announcement is causing sparks to fly off the rumor mill: Comicbook.com presents a solid case on it being Demon’s Souls, and folks on Reddit are throwing around Legend of Dragoon and Resistance. Personally, any guess with a link to Sony/PlayStation is sensible.

If not, be like this Twitter user, which is also sensible.
