E3 2018: Fortnite and Others Porting to Nintendo Switch

While a lot of today’s coverage of E3 has been overshadowed by Nintendo’s exciting Super Smash Bros. Ultimate announcement, the company also unveiled an impressive list of ports coming to the Nintendo Switch that gamers will be thrilled about playing. Here are a few of the standouts:

Fortnite

Fortnite is arguably one of the most popular games of 2018. As of today, fans can download the 100-player Battle Royale on the Nintendo eShop and play it on their Nintendo Switch. It will have cross-play with PC, Xbox One, and mobile (sorry, PS4!), and include the “complete experience”, per Nintendo.

Overcooked 2

The first Overcooked was a big hit on Steam. Now, Nintendo is serving up a sequel with more chefs, more kitchens, more recipes, and more co-op madness, with online multiplayer up to four chefs. Available Aug. 7.

Hollow Knight

Available today on the Nintendo eShop is Team Cherry’s action-adventure hit, previously only available on PC and Mac. The 2D side-scroller boasts some cute yet creepy hand-drawn art and, in the spirit of the metroidvania genre, it encourages exploration of it’s charming, dark caverns and rewards players with creative combat and power upgrades.

Killer Queen Black

The retro-style indie hit and “world’s only 10-player strategy arcade game” is coming to Nintendo Switch. Based on the original arcade eSport and optimized for consoles, Killer Queen Black includes some new twists and online play. A release date has yet to be announced.

Dragon Ball FighterZ

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate wasn’t the only brawler announcement from Nintendo this year. Coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2018, Dragon Ball FighterZ includes a few exclusive features, with anime graphics and the typical “easy to learn but difficult to master” gameplay you might expect from a fighting game.

The Elder Scrolls: Legends

Not only is Elder Scrolls getting a graphics overhaul, but it’s heading to some new platforms as well. Bethesda revealed today that the digital card game will be coming to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Fallout Shelter

Back in 2016, Bethesda coincided the announcement of Fallout Shelter with its simultaneous release. Now, the team is back again, revealing that the popular mobile strategy game is immediately available on both PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch. If you’re a fan of the Fallout series and you haven’t played Shelter, there’s no excuse now.
