When Michael Fairbanks first saw Sam Raimi's Spider-Man film back in 2002, everything changed. The experience began a lifelong passion for cinema that has gone undeterred since. In 2009 he began reviewing movies on Youtube, which ultimately sprang into a lifelong passion for film criticism and entertainment reporting. He is currently studying screenwriting at Chapman University. Aside from seeing movies, Michael enjoys making bad puns while playing video games, going on long late night drives, and socializing over large plates of food. Movie Review: Get Out

Jordan Peele’s Get Out is essentially Dear White People for sadists; it’s a therapeutic horror comedy with a shotgun barrel aimed at the racial tension that’s echoing through America. Where Keegan-Michael Key mostly seems comfortable remaining in the goofy comedy/light drama…

TV Review: Legion “Chapter Two”

I was really worried that Legion’s pilot was a fluke. For as fascinating as spending time inside David Haller’s mind was, the ending hinted at things taking a turn into more standard superhero territory and I’m still not thrilled with…

TV Review: Legion Series Premiere – “Chapter 1”

The following review contains spoilers for the premiere episode of Legion. The X-Men franchise has, strangely enough, become the home for auteur storytelling in the superhero landscape. Last year, we got the unapologetically vulgar and cartoonish Deadpool and in March,…
