Aaron is a movie fanatic. He is from Orange County, California, but earned a degree or two at UC Santa Barbara. He describes himself as a film reviewer, writer, podcaster, video game player, comic book reader, disc golfer, and a lefty. There are too many films, TV shows, books, etc. for him to list as favorites, but he can assure that the amount of film knowledge within his noggin is ridiculous, though he is always open to learning more. TV Review: FX’s The Americans 4×8, “The Magic of David Copperfield V: The Statue of Liberty Disappears”

Let’s get this out of the way, “The Magic of David Copperfield V: The Statue of Liberty Disappears” may be a great episode of The Americans, but it’s just the worst episode title to go with. Fortunately, Matthew Rhys’ first…

TV Review: FX’s The Americans 4×7, “Travel Agents”

TV Review: FX’s The Americans 4×6, “The Rat”

Something I don’t focus on too much with The Americans is the emphasis on disguise. Almost every week, Philip and Elizabeth must don some silly wig or facial hair when on a mission. I think the show is kind of…

TV Review: FX’s The Americans 4×5, “Clark’s Place”

Call him Poor Stan or Sad Sack Stan, but one thing Noah Emmerich is not is lazy. Stepping back into the director’s chair for the second time in this series, “Clark’s Place” finds Emmerich continuing to shine in his efforts…

TV Review: FX’s The Americans 4×4, “Chloramphenicol”

Juxtaposition plays a key role in any competent television series and The Americans is no different. Sometimes it comes in the form of a splashy action sequence, set to the music of the time, much like the ‘Tainted Love’ scene…

TV Review: AMC’s The Walking Dead 6×16, “Last Day On Earth”

I was afraid this would happen. The optimist in me thought The Walking Dead could conclude its season with a reveal of Negan that would have justified the buildup and set up a credible threat we would be continuing to…

TV Review: FX’s The Americans 4×3, “Experimental Prototype City Of Tomorrow”

Poor Henry Jennings. After weeks of tolerating comments about his smelly cologne and hanging out with Stan, the man who seems to pay the most attention to him, it finally seemed like things were going to turn around with a…
