James Franco Becomes Bad Movie Royalty In First Disaster Artist Trailer.

Anybody who loves kicking back with a few drinks and watching a terrible movie has undoubtedly seen The Room at least once. Writer/Director/Star/Jesus Figure Tommy Wiseau has become a cult icon and it was only a matter of time before somebody chronicled the production of his masterpiece, a la Ed Wood. James Franco directs and takes on the role of the man himself, with his brother Dave, Seth Rogen and a whole host of others in supporting roles. This hilarious trailer shows the creation of one of the film’s most iconic moments, although let’s face it, the whole thing is iconic.

Based on Greg Sestero’s best-selling tell-all about the making of Tommy Wiseau’s cult–classic disaster piece THE ROOM (“The Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made”), THE DISASTER ARTIST is a hilarious and welcome reminder that there is more than one way to become a legend– and no limit to what you can achieve when you have absolutely no idea what you’re doing.
